Meacham RM 10-11 Instream Enhancement and Floodplain Restoration Project
The Meacham RM 10-11 Instream Enhancement and Floodplain Restoration Project aims to improve instream fish habitat, natural processes, and channel morphology, while protecting existing infrastructure along Meacham Creek between RM 9.1 and RM 10.1.
The goals of the Project are to improve instream habitat for Endangered Species Act (ESA) listed and non-listed fish, benefit channel morphology and instream processes, increase floodplain connectivity, and protect existing infrastructure along Meacham Creek. These will be achieved by installing large woody material (LWM), restoring streambanks, off- and side-channels, set-back or removal of existing berms, dikes, and levees; gravel augmentation; road and trail erosion control and decommissioning; noxious weed management and replanting native riparian species. The areal extent of disturbance is 105 acres. Construction began in the summer of 2025 and was completed in the fall of 2025.
